The origin of Picvert is Picardy and its fertile plains. For several generations, our family farm has produced cereals, sugar beets and potatoes. Since the 1990s, baby leaves and mini vegetables have diversified our offer. Without forgetting to cultivate social and environmental responsibility.
In the 1990s, Jacques Deramecourt took over the exploitation. He launched the production of baby leaves. However the question was, how can we still offer baby leaves in winter, without using heated greenhouses with a disastrous ecological impact?
In 2007, Jacques and his team established a farm in the sun of Portugal, in a region bordering the ocean refreshed by the trade winds. This is also where Picvert mini vegetables are grown. To meet demand, another farm was created in another favorable region, in Malaga, Spain.
Social and environmental responsibility also have to be cultivated. Respecting the land and those who work it is in the DNA of our family farm. This corporate culture has enabled us to obtain numerous ecological labels, like HVE and Organic in 2019. We are committed to developing well-being at work as well as the plants well-being of our darling Baby leaves!
Each year, we open new projects in favor of biodiversity: adoption of hives, flowering fallows … What will be the next?
