Who are we ?

  • Our Farms in Picardie and Portugal

    Our farm in Picardie

Our farm is located between Saint-Quentin and Amiens on fertile loamy soils. The sea is just 100 km away and brings us a temperate climate. These are conditions which are ideal for growing vegetables and particularly salads. The region is one of large crops such as cereals and sugar beet. This allows us to rotate our crops, a technique which consists of alternating different plant species on a parcel, which means that the soil never has to be disinfected. That’s what respect for the Earth is all about !

Fertile soil! A temperate climate! Ideal for growing salads.
  • Our Farm in Portugal

    English

Set up in 2007, our « le Jardin de la lagune » farm is located an hour and a half to the south of Lisbon on the Atlantic coast. The southern sun gives the heat necessary for our winter productions, and the sea breezes cool our crops during very hot periods.  We have the same preoccupation for environmental respect as in Picardie as can seen in our Globalgap and Nature’s Choice certifications.

A country which is ideal for vegetable crops during the winter

Production stages

Our salads are grown all year round using good farming practices and our production is complemented by our farm in Portugal to guarantee a supply of fresh vegetables in all seasons.

  • Preparing the soil

For our salad seeds to benefit from the best possible conditions our tractors work the soil several

times before sowing : one tilling and at least two passes with tools to break up the lumps.

What we are aiming at is fine soil.

  • Sowing

    Sowing

To be able to sow, we need optimum soil and climate conditions so that all our seeds germinate and grow.

Not too dry…. Not too wet… not so simple in « rainy Picardie » !

  • Irrigation

For good irrigation we have to monitor our crops permanently. Providing just the right quantity at the right moment is an art !

  • Harvesting

    Harvesting

Our young salad shoots and our lamb’s lettuce are machine-harvested, and to guarantee maximum freshness we prefer to harvest in the morning.

  • Packaging

    Packaging

Our young salad shoots and our lamb’s lettuce are packaged directly from the field to the punnet, with no additives and no washing in order not to damage them. It’s up to you to rinse them.
